Getting Started with Your Account
- Accessing Your Account Settings
- Click on your name or profile picture in the top right corner of your Baker’s Base dashboard.
- Select “Account Settings”from the dropdown menu. This is where you can control your personal details, shop preferences, and security.

- Personal Information:Ensure your name, email address, and contact number are up to date. This is important for receiving notifications and for customer correspondence.
- Password:You can change your account password at any time for security.
- Notification Preferences:Choose how you want to be notified about new orders and messages (e.g., email, SMS).
Shop Customisation & Branding
How to Personalise Your Shopfront
Make your online bakery truly yours by updating your branding:
- In your account settings, navigate to the “Shop Branding”
- Upload Your Logo:For the best quality, use a high-resolution image with a transparent background.
- Add a Banner Image:Choose a welcoming photo of your baked goods to feature at the top of your shop.
- Choose Your Colours:Select a colour scheme that matches your brand for buttons, headers, and text.
- Remember to click “Save Changes”to update your live shop.
Writing Your ‘About Us’ Page
This is your chance to connect with customers:
- Go to “Shop Pages”in your settings.
- Click on “About Us”.
- Tell your story! Explain what makes your bakery special, your passion for baking, and your values (e.g., using local ingredients).
- Use a friendly and engaging tone.
Payments & Payouts
Setting Up Your Payment Provider (Stripe or PayPal)
To get paid, you need to connect a business account:
- Go to the “Payments”tab in your settings.
- Click “Connect”next to either Stripe or PayPal.
- You will be redirected to the provider’s site to securely log in and authorise the connection.
- Once connected, the status will show as “Active”. Customers can now pay by card or PayPal.
- Please Note:Baker’s Base does not charge commission. However, Stripe and PayPal charge their own transaction fees. You can view their fee structures on their respective websites.
How and When You Get Paid
- Money from sales goes directly into your connected Stripe or PayPal account.
- Once the payment has cleared (this usually takes a few days), you can transfer it to your UK bank account from within your Stripe or PayPal dashboard.
- Transfers to your bank are typically very fast.
Connections & Integrations
Linking Your Existing Website to Your Baker’s Base Shop
- In settings, find the “Domain”
- You will see your unique Baker’s Base web address (e.g., bakersbase.com).
- To use your own domain (e.g., yourbakery.com), you will need to update your domain’s DNS settings. Our guide provides step-by-step instructions, or you may need to contact your website host for help.
Integrating Your Social Media
- In the “Integrations”tab, you will find options for Facebook and Instagram.
- Click “Connect”and follow the prompts to log in to your social media account.
- Once connected, you can choose to display a feed of your latest posts directly on your bakery shop to keep it fresh and engaging.
Setting Up WhatsApp Chat
- In the “Integrations”tab, find the WhatsApp option.
- Enter the mobile number you use for your business WhatsApp account.
- Once saved, a “Message Us on WhatsApp” button will appear on your shop, allowing customers to start a chat with you instantly.
Tools & Compliance
Generating Your Food Safety Forms
Baker’s Base makes compliance simple:
- Navigate to the “Compliance”section in your settings.
- Select whether you need a Daily, Monthly, or Yearlyfood safety checklist.
- Click “Generate Form”.
- The system will create a PDF document that you can download, print, and fill out to keep on file for your local environmental health officer.
Creating Your QR Code
- Go to the “Marketing”tab in your settings.
- Find the “QR Code”
- Click “Generate Code”.
- Download the QR code image file. You can now print this and display it at your market stall, in your bakery window, or on your packaging to direct people straight to your online shop.
Troubleshooting Common Account Issues
Q: I’ve forgotten my password. How do I reset it?
A: On the login page, click the “Forgot Password?” link. Enter your email address, and we will send you a secure link to reset your password.
Q: My payment provider status is ‘Pending’ or ‘Not Connected’. What should I do?
A: Try disconnecting and then reconnecting your Stripe or PayPal account. Ensure you are logging into a Business account, not a Personal one, with PayPal. If issues persist, contact your payment provider’s support.
Q: Changes to my shop branding aren’t showing up.
A: First, ensure you clicked “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page. Then, try refreshing your browser page (press F5). Sometimes, your browser may show a cached version of the site.
